Safety

Safety is ingrained in our culture, and has become the biggest part of who we are. Safety is a Core Value to the Frost Lake Group because we want to protect our most important asset: our people. One of Frost Lake’s key beliefs is that all accidents are preventable. Frost Lake exceeds industry safety standards and is BCFSC SAFE Certified.

Our safety program makes us a leader in safety in the forest industry. Frost Lake has developed its internal safety program over the last 25 years with the belief that all accidents are preventable. We work with employees to ensure that they are safe at and away from work, and ensure they use company policies to keep each other safe.

Frost Lake currently employs 4 Level 3 First Aid Attendants and maintains 3 Emergency Transport Vehicles in our current forest operations. In addition, we ensure that our core group of employees maintains their Level 1 First Aid certificates with Transportation Endorsement every 3 years. We also employ third party first aid coverage wherever necessary, and to audit our processes to ensure we are carrying out our safety program to the high standard we have set for ourselves.

Environment

Frost Lake Logging prides itself on the high quality of its harvesting and extraction operations working to strict environmental standards; ensuring that minimal environmental damage is done when carrying out harvesting operations. We conduct Environmental Risk Assessments on each site and operate a rigorous recycling policy.  Our responsibility to the environment is evidenced by our track record. As a Licensee in the BC Timber Sales Program (formerly Small Business Forest Enterprise Program), Frost Lake has never had any incidents of non-compliance with the FPC.
